LETHBRIDGE – A nature trail in Cottonwood Park will now commemorate the late Steve Vaselenak, a respected former City Council member and educator.

The pathway descending into the Oldman River valley has been named after the community member to honour his considerable contributions over more than four decades.

The park was purchased by the city in 1996 from the family.

Steve Vaselenak was born in Lethbridge in 1908 and taught at St. Basil’s School in North Lethbridge from 1928 until his retirement in 1970.
