Fire advisory issued for Lethbridge County

Aug 2, 2019 | 12:27 PM

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY, AB – Officials are taking actions to ensure the rural areas surrounding Lethbridge are not effected by wildfires.

“Although this is not a Fire Ban, the County asks citizens to take extra caution when burning while the Advisory is in effect,” reads a press release from Lethbridge County.

Citizens in the area are asked to follow the regulations of their fire permit and the Fire Permit Bylaw #1424.

They also advise extinguishing any flames if the winds exceed 15 km per hour.

“Do not hesitate to call 911 should your fire become uncontrollable.”

If conditions persist, the County could impose a fire ban at any time. Should this happen, you would be required to immediately and fully put out any fires on your property.
