LETHBRIDGE, AB – While WHL teams will be playing this year, it won’t be what hockey fans have come to expect.

Last week, the league committed to holding a regular season in 2020-21 with 24 games, far short of the typical 68-72 game season.

A statement from the Lethbridge Hurricanes says the official start date will be determined once the WHL has received final approval from health authorities in all provinces and states where it operates.

“In the meantime, the Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club has been working with the Ticket Centre and our ticket provider to begin the process of issuing full refunds to everyone who purchased 2020-2021 season tickets.”

All refunds should be received in the next seven-to-14 business days.

“Again, we sincerely thank you for your support of your hometown team, we can’t wait for hockey to return and hope to see you at the ENMAX Centre this year!”
