Danielle Smith’s approval rating holds steady following projected election win

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Albertans continue to hold about the same level of approval for the province’s premier-elect.
Danielle Smith is projected to have won re-election in the 2023 Alberta provincial election. She ran in the riding of Brooks-Medicine Hat and is the leader of the United Conservative Party, which is estimated to have claimed enough seats to form a majority government.
The Angus Reid Institute has released its Premiers’ Performance report for June 2023, analyzing how popular each province’s political leaders are.
Out of the nine included premiers, Danielle Smith was tied for the fifth most popular with an approval rating of 45 per cent. B.C.’s David Eby had the same percentage of support among his province’s residents.
