Pattison Media is proud to support the local community with the ‘Amplify Southern Alberta’ promotion, featuring local businesses, individuals and groups that make a difference in our community.

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Sam’s Puppy Playhouse has been a staple in Lethbridge for over six years!

“I opened my doggy daycare and canine massage business in February of 2017. I already had a Bachelor of Science degree, and dog-sat in my home while getting my canine massage certification and completing a business course,” said Sam Hart, owner of Sam’s Puppy Playhouse.

Hart added, “It took about a year to find the right property to execute my business plan, and a lot of effort to get the building ready with all the right permits. I’ve been in business over six years now! I recently purchased the commercial property, and I’ve got a team of six employees.”

She said, “We are a doggy daycare with the right credentials to keep dogs safe in our care. Our goal is to keep dogs healthy and happy while learning beneficial behaviours and enjoying safe socialization. We don’t have overnight boarding but have excellent day time supervision and care from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, and the occasional select Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.”

Hart noted the business is the only doggy daycare with a certified massage therapist. She explained massage can help with different ailments, both physically and mentally, “and is a great feature that’s available in and out of daycare.”

Never one to shy away from supporting the local community, Sam is proud of the place she calls home.

She stated, “I’m a firm believer of what goes around comes around, and treating others as you’d want to be treated. I’m a small business who loves to be supported, and I also love supporting other businesses with their ventures. I get to know my clients and use their services whenever I can.”

Hart said, “Word of mouth with positive referral goes a lot way for the community. I will shop locally, and I love to visit downtown and spread my love through various shops. I prefer to give my business to other local businesses such as smaller clothing stores, grocery stores, gas stations, chiropractic clinics, restaurants, massage professionals, tool sharpening, little coffee shops, and so forth.”

She added, “During COVID, my business was fortunate to be considered essential so I made sure to visit those businesses who were struggling to keep their doors open in hopes my purchases or use of their services could help them stay afloat in some way. I also think it’s important to help the less fortunate side of our community by donating to local shelters and centres, and supporting those non profits in their outreach to the community that doesn’t have as much.”
