No charges will be laid in Lethbridge fatal motorcycle collision
Lethbridge Police have concluded their investigation into a motorcycle collision that claimed the life of a 36-year-old man.
On December 23, 2024 just after 8:30 p.m., police and EMS responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV along the 4800 block of 24 Avenue South.
An investigation was launched, and police say the motorcycle was travelling westbound along 24 Avenue South when it collided with the driver’s side of an SUV, which was making a left turn to eastbound 24 Avenue.
Police say that speed was a factor in the collision, and add that witnesses reported the motorcycle operator engaged in a dangerous maneuver as he overtook another vehicle before striking the SUV. As a result, the SUV driver could not see the motorcycle and could not avoid the collision.
