LETHBRIDGE, AB – **This story has been corrected from its original version, to include information that Mr. Khokar was not found guilty of either sexual assault or common assault. The information was provided to LNN by the courts, but was incorrect. We have corrected the information.

A 42-year-old Lethbridge man has entered into a peace bond in connection with an incident where a female sales associate was allegedly sexually assaulted while in a home with a prospective buyer.

Lethbridge Police say the incident occurred on May 29, 2019, when Maneesh Kumar Khokar entered a property where a 23-year-old woman was working, and asked to see another home nearby. The sales associate accompanied Khokar to the show home, and while she was doing so, she told police she was assaulted.

Police say she managed to message her coworkers in the area for help, and a colleague came to her assistance as the man was driving away.

Khokar was initially charged with one count of sexual assault, however, the charge was withdrawn upon him entering into the peace bond. He must obey the conditions of a six-month Peace Bond, during which he is banned from attending any Lethbridge show home, or residential home sale sites.

The victim and assailant were not known to one another. To protect the identity of the victim, police have not released the name of the company, nor the location of the incident.
