Iwaskiw seeking fourth council term; proud of accomplishments
LETHBRIDGE – Liz Iwaskiw says she doesn’t make promises, and doesn’t make decisions based on what will get her elected.
The longtime Lethbridge resident is seeking a fourth term on City Council. Iwaskiw, a professional mediator with a political science degree, told Lethbridge News Now her background has made her a good listener.
She also said she reads all the materials and tries to make decisions based on what’s best for the community.
“When a really angry citizen phones me on a Sunday night and says, why did you change your mind about recycling, I can spend 20 minutes on the phone with that person and explain to them exactly what happened and why I changed my mind,” she said, “and at the end of it they’ll go, ah, I didn’t know that.”
