KAMLOOPS – It’s now two wins on the road this season for the Lethbridge Hurricanes!

It was a close match up Wednesday against the Kamloops Blazers, staying within just a couple shots of each other.

The Blazers Collin Shirley opened scoring mid-way through the first period, with the Canes Giorgio Estephan tying it up late in the second. But it was Jordy Bellerive, assisted by Brayden Burke and Kord Pankewicz, that quickly sealed the 2-1 victory, getting past goalie Connor Ingram 1-minute and 44-seconds into overtime.

The Hurricanes were the only ones to score among five power play opportunities. Kamloops couldn’t break Stuart Skinner on just two power plays.

After a somewhat disappointing six game losing skid, three on the road and three at home, the Hurricanes have now picked up a two game win streak. They remain third in the Central Division with a 7-7-1-1 overall record, and slide to second place across the WHL, ahead of the Kootenay Ice, for total goals against.

The Canes continue their three game road trip on Friday (Nov. 4) in Victoria, BC against the Royals. Action gets underway at 8:05 p.m. MST.
