Pronghorns women’s hockey team swept at home, men’s team swept on the road in weekend wrap-up
LETHBRIDGE – Goals were at a premium at the Nicholas Sheran Arena for the Pronghorns women’s hockey team on Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20, and both times the home team came out on the wrong end.
Across the plains in Saskatoon, goals weren’t as hard to come by, the problem is they all wound up in the Pronghorns net.
Following a scoreless 60 minutes of regulation on Friday night, it took the Saskatchewan Huskies only 16-seconds in overtime for forward Abby Shirley to score the winning goal, beating the Lethbridge Pronghorns 1-0 in Canada West women’s hockey action.
Pronghorn goaltender Alicia Anderson was strong in goal, as usual, making 38 saves in the loss.
