PIIKANI NATION – The driver and lone occupant of an SUV had to be airlifted by STARS to a Calgary hospital Wednesday, July 25, following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 3.
At this time there’s no update on their condition.
Piikani RCMP say the collision occurred around 6 p.m. between Fort Macleod and Brocket, and that it involved an SUV and a truck hauling a trailer. They did note that the occupants of the truck did not appear to suffer any injuries.
While the investigation is ongoing, police did say alcohol appears to have been a factor in the collision for the driver of the SUV and that charges are likely pending.
