Kraft Hockeyville nomination & rally period closes Sunday

Feb 7, 2020 | 5:00 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The nomination window for the Kraft Hockeyville competition is quickly coming to a close.

Community members are able to nominate their local arena and others can then rally behind it. Doing this earns the facility points that factor heavily into judging.

The winning arena gets $250,000 to go towards renovations and upgrades. They will also have the opportunity to host an upcoming NHL pre-season game.

Currently, there are four arenas in southern Alberta that have been entered into the Hockeyville contest – Lethbridge’s Logan Boulet Arena, the Taber Ice Arena, the Memorial Community Centre Arena in Pincher Creek, and Coaldale’s Sportsplex.

Sunday, February 9 is the last day to nominate or rally behind an arena.

From there, judging will take place until March 13.

The top four will be announced on March 14, and following a brief public voting period, the winner will be declared on March 28.
