Over $70,000 raised at Coldest Night of the Year event in Lethbridge

UPDATE Feb.27/23: Organizers have updated the official numbers from the Coldest Night of the Year event, and a total of 208 walkers participated in the two events in downtown Lethbridge and at Henderson Lake, raising a total of $70,582.

LETHBRIDGE, AB –
Lethbridge residents came out to show their support for a pair of local non-profit organizations on Saturday, February 25.

The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a national movement that occurs in many communities across the country every year.

Two walks were held in Lethbridge, each raising money for different local causes.

One took place in downtown Lethbridge in support of the Streets Alive Mission, while the other saw donations collected for Wood’s Homes Lethbridge during a walk around Henderson Lake.

The CNOY website shows that 50 people were registered as walkers, 33 teams were set to participate, and 18 organizations sponsored the event, including Pattison Media stations B93.3 FM, WILD 95.5 FM, and Lethbridge News Now.

Between the two walks, CNOY organizers hope to raise a total of $90,000 At the time of publication, the website shows that $70,317 has been collected so far.
