Some sports activities cancelled in Lethbridge due to air quality concerns

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Local sports officials are notifying parents and athletes of cancellations in light of poor air quality.

Lethbridge Little League stated that due to concerns over the air quality in Lethbridge, all baseball activities have been cancelled for Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

The league is encouraging coaches in the minor and intermediate divisions to work with opposing team coaches to find a date to reschedule games.

Additionally, officials stated that teams that had pictures scheduled for Tuesday night should not attend their scheduled time. A revised time for photos is being worked out.

The Lethbridge Soccer Association said all of its soccer sessions for Tuesday, May 16 have been cancelled as well, due to the poor air quality.
