The word ‘Oki’ is the Blackfoot word for “greetings” or “welcome”. It became the City of Lethbridge’s official greeting in 2019.

The City hopes to garner interest from different local organizations who would like to have their own OKI sign. Those interested need to show how they are working towards reconciliation locally and identifying opportunities to integrate Blackfoot culture and language into their regular business activities.

Applications for interested groups are open, with the deadline to submit set for January 15, 2024. More information, including how to apply, is at the City of Lethbridge website.
