High-powered Oil Kings edge Hurricanes 6-4
LETHBRIDGE – Two of the Western Hockey League’s top offences went head-to-head and they didn’t disappoint.
The Edmonton Oil Kings (a league-high 92 goals following the contest) bested the Lethbridge Hurricanes (ranked third with 76 goals) by a 6-4 score Monday night, Nov. 12.
Edmonton opened the scoring just 14 seconds in, and while ‘Canes forward Dylan Cozens would even things up midway through the first, the Oil Kings would re-establish the lead before the opening 20 minutes was done.
It was the Hurricanes who struck early in the second, as Jordy Bellerive picked up his ninth of the season 1:18 into the frame to tie the score 2-2. This time the Oil Kings responded with two goals – one shorthanded and another on the power play – to take a 4-2 lead.
