Mobile home consumed in blaze near Nobleford

Dec 8, 2016 | 4:43 PM

NOBLEFORD – A mobile home was completely destroyed by fire on a rural property south west of Nobleford Thursday (Dec. 8) afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the 911 call from someone who was in the home around 3:30 p.m., and arrived to find the structure completely engulfed in flames.

Nobleford Fire Chief, Ryan Wagner, was at the scene, and noted that the location and extreme cold made fighting the blaze even more difficult.

“The dugouts are frozen. We got a dugout about half a mile away where we’re coring through right now and going to be pumping water through a portable pump into the trucks,” explained Wagner. “Right now we had to send a truck all the way back to Nobleford to get water.”

Fortunately, he did point out that no one was injured in the fire.

Wagner added that he’s hopeful investigators will be able to go over the scene Friday (Dec. 9) to determine the cause of the fire.
