Hurricanes wrap up 2016-17 season with a loss to Medicine Hat
MEDICINE HAT – The Lethbridge Hurricanes sent off the 2016-17 regular season with a fight at the Canalta Centre Saturday (Mar. 18) night.
The Medicine Hat Tigers took advantage of three of their five power play opportunities to edge the Hurricanes 8-7. Lethbridge looked promising with 38 shots on goal, but were eventually outweighed by their opponent’s 45.
It was a quick start by the Tigers’ Steve Owre, who had the first point just 34-seconds in. But the Hurricanes kept up shot for shot a majority of the game.
Tyler Wong fired back, registering his 50th career goal. The Tigers’ Brad Forrest and Calen Addison followed up with a goal a piece, with Ryan Vandervlis taking the lead within the final few minutes of the first frame.
