Taber RCMP investigating fatal collision

TABER, AB – A 19-year-old woman from Nobleford died in a collision east of Taber on Friday, July 17.

At approximately 6:50 am, emergency crews were called after a westbound car collided head-on with an eastbound car.

The woman, who was driving the eastbound car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In the westbound car was a 17-year-old. He suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in Calgary.

Traffic on Highway 3 was rerouted for several hours.

Taber RCMP and an RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate the collision.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.

The name of the deceased will not be released.
