Crowsnest Pass man charged with impaired care and control of a boat
PINCHER CREEK – A 36-year-old man has been charged with impaired care and control of a vessel, as well as liquor offences, after taking his boat out on the Oldman Reservoir with a 7-year-old child on board, as well as a 32-year-old woman who was also intoxicated.
Pincher Creek Emergency Services and RCMP say on Saturday, Aug. 11 at 8:30 p.m. they received a 9-1-1 call from the boater that his boat had quit, and they were in peril.
With limited information and thunderstorms moving in, Pincher Creek Fire, Cowley Fire and the RCMP responded to the North Fork boat launch.
There they located the boat, the two adults and the child on the Crowsnest River arm of the reservoir, where they were sitting on a shallow muddy area.
