Canes post two losses in a row after dropping 4-2 decision in Regina
REGINA – After giving up a 2-0 shutout to Moose Jaw the night before the Hurricanes tallied another loss on Saturday night (Feb 10). This time, it was 4-2 for Regina, in a penalty laden match. A total of 64 penalty minutes (Leth 30 – Reg 34). Those penalty minutes included two five-minute majors for fighting for the Canes, while the Pats charted five minutes for fighting and a ten-minute misconduct for Bryce Platt.
The Regina Pats wasted no time and opened the scoring four minutes into the first frame. However, the Canes took advantage of a power play tied the game two minutes before the end of the first 20 minutes of play. Logan Barlage laid down his fourth goal since joining the Canes, off an assist from Calen Addison and Taylor Ross.
Unfortunately, the second period did not favour the Canes, who surrendered two goals. The Pats’ Matt Bradley charted his 32 goal of the season just over two minutes in to grab the lead for his team.
Then, at the 15-minute mark, Sam Steel had a power play goal to put the Pats ahead 3-1.
