Lethbridge Library Will Host National “Demystify Islam” Campaign
LETHBRIDGE: A Nation-Wide campaign to remove the stigma around one of the most popular religions in the world is coming to Lethbridge.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is holding over 135 “Demystify Islam” Open Houses in more than 35 communities across Canada.
Spokesperson Shahrukh Abid says recent terrorist attacks in Indonesia, Turkey, the U-S and Paris have created misconceptions about muslims.
“So basically the whole point is to just let people know that Islam is not a religion of violence and we condemn this sort of violence. These terrorist groups have nothing to do with [the religion], rather Islam is a religion of piece and harmony that promotes brotherhood.”
