Blood Tribe man facing charges after stealing ambulance in Standoff
STANDOFF – A Blood Tribe resident is facing a handful of charges after stealing an ambulance, causing an accident and leaving the scene.
Emergency Medical Services were called to assess a person in custody at the Blood Tribe Police Service building on Jan. 9, between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
While EMS personnel were treating the patient inside the police building, a man walked up to the ambulance that was parked in the parking lot and drove off with it.
The ambulance was reported to have struck a vehicle along Highway 2 a short time later, where the driver failed to stop at the collision and was eventually located parked outside of a residence in the community of Moses Lake.
