LPS charge Edmonton men with weapons and drug-related offences

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have two men behind bars.

They responded to a call on April 15 to a home on the 200 block of 20 Street North.

By the time police arrived, two suspects had already left the area but were arrested after a short foot chase.

β€œOne of them unsuccessfully attempted to disarm an officer of his pepper spray during a brief struggle,” reads a media release from LPS.

Police confiscated a loaded .357 Magnum handgun nearby as well as 5.5 grams of cocaine and $735 in cash.

George Ishiekwene, 25, has been charged with five weapons offences including possession of a firearm obtained by a criminal offence, resisting arrest, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime.

He was released to appear in court on May 14, 2021.

Braudy Solano, 23, has been charged with two counts of assaulting an officer, one count of attempt to disarm an officer, mischief, and uttering threats.

He was released to appear in court on June 9, 2021.
