Lethbridge & Pincher Creek broke 117-year-old heat records on Canada Day
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Another day, another set of heat records broken in Alberta.
On Canada Day, Environment Canada reports that maximum temperature records were set in 44 Albertan communities.
Of those, Medicine Hat was the hottest at 39.5 degrees, breaking their now-former record of 35.4 degrees set in 1990.
While Lethbridge and Pincher Creek did not get that hot, their new records are perhaps a bit more interesting as they smashed previous records that were set more than a full century ago.
