First Court Appearance for Lethbridge Woman Accused of Killing Mother

LETHBRIDGE – A Lethbridge woman accused of killing her mother made her first court appearance Monday morning.

Jessica Lee Ann Praill didn’t speak as she appeared via CCTV and had her matter adjourned to Friday (May 6).

Around 9:40-pm on April 28, police were called to a report that a 54-year old woman, identified as Shelley Kristine Praill, had been stabbed at a home along the 2300 block of 18 Street North. She was found inside the home and sent to the Chinook Regional Hospital with life threatening injuries. She died a short time later in hospital.

Praill was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with second degree murder.
