Waterton Plans Family Friendly Event for Canada Day

WATERTON – Admission to Waterton Lakes National Park will be free on Friday, July 1, to help celebrate Canada Day.

The day’s events will begin with a bike parade at 11 am, which will travel along Waterton Avenue before ending at the Community Centre. Everyone is welcome to join the parade, and encouraged to decorate their bikes. Those participating should meet outside the Waterton United Church at 10:30 am.

A flag raising ceremony at the Community Centre will follow the parade, and include a $3 hot dog lunch with free cake and lemonade.

There will also be games and activities for children, as well as face painting.

Volunteers interested in helping with the bike parade and lunch, can contact Parks Canada at 403-859-5133 or dianne.pachal@pc.gc.ca before noon on June 30.
