Lethbridge man charged following convenience store robbery

LETHBRIDGE – A 28-year old Lethbridge man has been charged, after a south side convenience store was robbed Monday (Nov. 14) night.

Around 9:25 p.m., Lethbridge Police responded to an alarm and 911 call at the Esso along the 700 block of 6 Avenue South.

They determined that a man entered the store, went behind the counter, demanded money and then shoved the female clerk. He managed to grab an undisclosed amount of cash and while leaving the store he punched a man in the face who was just walking in.

Police found the suspect a short distance away and took him into custody.
