BROOKS — The Lethbridge Bulls were unable to hang onto an early lead Sunday, July 9, and now have two other WMBL teams breathing down their necks in the standings.

The Bulls lost to the Bombers 7-5 in Brooks. Lethbridge took a 5-0 lead in the third inning, thanks in part to home runs by Nolan Handley and Jesse Hilyard.

But Brooks came back with seven unanswered runs. Reliever Hunter Cunningham was tagged with the loss after coming out of the bullpen in the seventh inning and giving up a three-run homer to Lee Thomas.

The Bulls now trail division-leading Okotoks by three games in the Western Division standings. But two other teams, Medicine Hat and Edmonton, are now just a half game back of Lethbridge.
