Lethbridge Police charge 18-year-old with uttering threats

LETHBRIDGE –  An 18-year old man has been charged with uttering threats in connection with an incident at Winston Churchill High School on Monday, Jan. 9.
 
Police say just after 10 a.m., they responded to the school following a report that a man had threatened to harm a former student with a firearm. Numerous police went to the school as a precautionary measures and after a brief search, found the suspect in question.
 
No firearms were recovered and no one was injured.
 
Police say two students had been walking near the school when they were approached by another teen who threatened the other student. When the students arrived at school, they notified staff and police were contacted.
 
Dillon James Grant has been charged with one count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 14.
