LETHBRIDGE – All three men charged in connection with a stabbing in downtown Lethbridge last month appeared in court Thursday, Feb. 22.

Two of the men – 35-year-old Jonathan Travis Holy White Man and 23-year-old Jesse Dean Davidson – simply had their matters adjourned, with Davidson back in court tomorrow, Feb. 23, and Holy White Man scheduled to come back in March.

The third accused, 35-year-old Rodney Kelsey Bottle, applied for bail but was denied following a hearing, which is covered under a publication ban. His case was then adjourned to Mar. 6.

The charges against the three men stem from an incident on Jan. 30. That evening around 7 p.m., members of the Lethbridge Police Service and EMS responded to a report of a stabbing at the Esso/Mac’s store along the 700 block of 6 Avenue South. They arrived to find a 35-year-old man with serious, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the Chinook Regional Hospital, before being transferred to another hospital in Calgary where he was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit.

There is currently no update on his condition.

An investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit resulted in charges of aggravated assault against the three men and all of them were taken into custody.

Police have noted that all parties involved in the incident are known to each other and that it was not a random crime.
