Teddy Bears and Toques fly as Hurricanes down Royals 4-1
LETHBRIDGE – The 22nd Annual Teddy Bear and Toque Toss game was good luck for the Lethbridge Hurricanes, as the home squad bounced back from a 5-1 loss on Friday night to defeat the Victoria Royals 4-1.
The Hurricanes opened the game strong in the first period despite being shorthanded three, but that’s exactly where Jake Elmer would open the scoring just 6:13 into the period which sent the bears and toques flying.
Lethbridge would keep up the heat in the second, outshooting the Royals 24-10 and adding two more goals.
Elmer again, just 1:29 into the period followed up by defenceman Ty Prefontaine’s first goal of the season at 14:21.
