LETHBRIDGE, AB – Its a full weekend of events in Lethbridge, and Lethbridge News Now has the details.

Survival: Snow Shelter and Winter First Aid – February 23, 2024

An outdoor survival class is happening on Friday at Indian Battle Park. This workshop will cover different types of winter shelters and their construction. The second half of the workshop will cover common winter first aid events and their treatment in the field. The event is available for kids aged 6-17, and more information can be found here.

Lethbridge Hurricanes vs. Edmonton Oil Kings – February 23, 2024

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are in action on Friday night, hosting the Edmonton Oil Kings. The Hurricanes recently snapped a seven game losing streak against the Moose Jaw Warriors, and are looking to keep up momentum in the home stretch of the regular season. The game starts at 7:00 p.m., and tickets can be purchased on the ENMAX Centre website.

Taste Of Colombia – February 23, 2024

The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association and the Colombian Cultural Club are collaborating on the “Taste of Columbia” event on Friday. The evening includes a 3-course Colombian meal and Colombian dance entertainment by Mi Colombia Linda as well as a Salsa Class. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Multicultural Centre.

2024 ACAC Women’s Volleyball Championships – February 22-24, 2024

Lethbridge College will host the 2024 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Championships this week. From February 22 to 24, the top eight women’s volleyball programs in the ACAC will compete for the conference championship. A full schedule is available here.

Coldest Night of the Year – February 23, 2024

The event is a fundraising walk aimed at supporting vulnerable people across Canada. In Lethbridge, there will be two walks on February 24, 2024, with one supporting Streets Alive Mission and the other helping out Wood’s Homes.

International Peace Pow Wow – February 23, 2024

The Annual International Peace Pow-Wow and Festival is happening at the ENMAX Centre on February 24 and 25. The event features Indigenous performing arts, the Grand Entry, and a marketplace, along with food and refreshments. Doors open at 10:00 a.m.

Legends of Rock and Country – February 15-25, 2024

Legends of Rock and Country began at the Yates Memorial Theatre on February 15. The show highlights over 20 artists who had a large impact on the Rock and Country genres, including Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton and Tina Turner. Tickets can be purchased here.

Nikka Yuko Winter Light Festival – November 30 – February 24

Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge is in the final week of its Winter Light Festival for 2024. This year, the festival has a ‘Celebration of the Seasons’ theme. The festival will be open Friday and Saturday.

Babes & Brews – Love Drunk Edition

Babes & Brews is back at Theoretically Brewing for its first show in the new year, hosted by drag queens Brandi Jayne and Poppy Puffter. The show features local performers, along with two special guests. Alongside the shows will be local brews on tap and pizza. Information can be found here.
