LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge College Kodiaks women’s basketball team has made its first player addition of the 2024-25 season.

The Kodiaks announced on April 16, 2024 that they have signed small forward Bailey Blackmore to their roster. Blackmore will join the Kodiaks for the season after she graduates from Magrath High School in the spring.

Head coach Ken McMurray spoke highly of her abilities, “She has a high basketball IQ, has length and is capable of playing all five positions on the court, including the point, which she had to do at times this past high school year. Her versatility will be her biggest asset to the Kodiaks.”

Blackmore has some familiarity with the Kodiaks, as she has attended open scrimmages and I.D. camps for the team since grade 11. Her two older siblings are former Kodiaks; Carly Blackmore played in the 2021-22 season, while Paycen Blackmore played in two seasons from 2021 to 2023.

Bailey said her older siblings were a reason she joined the team as well, “I definitely look up to Carly and Paycen and they inspired me to want to follow in their footsteps and play here.”

Blackmore will enrol in the General Arts and Science program in the fall.
