Tire Blowout Causes Truck Fire Near Monarch

MONARCH – A tire blowout is being blamed for a truck fire on Highway 23 near Monarch Friday morning.
 
Coaldale RCMP confirm the vehicle – that was hauling seed – caught fire following the blowout. They noted that no one was injured in the blaze.
 
They were forced to close the highway for several hours while they cleaned up the scene, but it has since been re-opened.
