Aug 12, 2016 | 5:47 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge Police are asking for help in identifying five individuals who were caught rummaging through vehicles on video surveillance early Friday morning.

Along with that message however, they are also asking Lethbridge residents to take steps to protect themselves.

Around 2:24-a.m. on Friday (Aug 12), a 2012 Ford F-150 Harley Davidson edition truck was stolen from the 1600 block of Coalbanks Boulevard West. Police noted that the vehicle was unlocked and a spare set of keys were inside. The truck was found later in the morning, with the spare keys and a pair of Chartier Aviator style sunglasses missing.

Police say at least three vehicles were targeted overnight in the Copperwood area and there could be more.

It is believed that the truck theft and prowlings were committed by the individuals observed in a video that was provided to police.

Police are asking that you be extra vigilant in your neighbourhood, lock your doors, remove valuables from your vehicles, do not keep spare keys inside and report any suspicious persons to police right away.
