The Hurricanes have picked up another defenceman, following the sudden retirement of Nick Watson last week.

Lethbridge has acquired 19-year-old Brennan Riddle from the Prince Albert Raiders, in exchange for a pick in the 2018 Bantam Draft. Riddle has spent his entire WHL career with the Raiders, with 10 assists and 76 penalty minutes in 111 games. Last season Riddle was plus-6 in 50 games, with four assists and 48 penalty minutes.

The 6’2″, 190-pound product of Balgonie, Sask. was originally drafted by the Calgary Hitmen in 2012, and played midget hockey in Tisdale, Sask. between 2012 and 2014, scoring six goals and 21 assists in 74 games.

With Riddle’s acquisition, the Hurricanes have eight defencemen, 15 forwards, and two goaltenders on their roster.
