SUDBURY – The Lethbridge AAA Hurricanes are all alone in second place, as they prepare to take on the only undefeated team so far at the Telus Cup.

Lethbridge and the Toronto Young Nationals skated to a 3-3 tie Wednesday, April 25. The AAA ‘Canes had a 3-1 lead, thanks to a pair of goals from Zack Stringer, and a goal by Michael Horon. But penalties late in the third period proved costly, as Toronto scored twice on the power play in the final five minutes to tie the game.

Carl Tetachuk turned away 19 of 22 shots for Lethbridge, which now has a record of two wins and one tie.

Next up is the Notre Dame Hounds, who have a 3-0 record. The top four teams from the preliminary round will advance to the playoffs.
