Town of Taber signs Wastewater Services Contract with Lantic Inc.
TABER – The Town of Taber announced on Monday, June 6, that it has signed a Utility Services Agreement to operate Lantic Inc.’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, effective June 1st.
In a release, the Town says Lantic Inc. first approached them in 2017 about the possibility of a public-private partnership where the company would pay the Town of Taber to provide skilled workers to operate the wastewater services to the Rogers Sugar Factory.
The partnership was deemed mutually beneficial to both parties after consideration and the subsequent agreement was formed.
Taber Council passed a resolution at their meeting on May 14 authorizing Mayor Prokop and Chief Administrative Officer Cory Armfelt to sign the agreement.
