Pair of locals charged with methamphetamine possession

LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge Police have charged 36-year-old Jerome Ross and 33-year-old Dayna Michelle Scout, both from Lethbridge, after a short-term investigation into downtown drug activity.

According to police, after several complaints from the public and information forwarded by concerned citizens, members of the Downtown Policing Unit conducted a short-term investigation that resulted in the arrest of Ross and Scout.

Police found Ross along the 800 block of 6 Avenue South, where he was arrested without incident on outstanding drug warrants, on June 3.

During a search incidental to arrest police located a quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana. Scout was arrested a short time later in Galt Gardens and a further quantity of methamphetamine was seized.

Ross is charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana, obstructing a peace officer and three counts of breach of a recognizance. He was remanded in custody and will appear in court on June 8.

Scout is facing a possession of methamphetamine charge, was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13.
