Pincher Creek fish and wildlife officers investigating deer carcass

Dec 4, 2018 | 8:52 AM

PINCHER CREEK – A tip to the Report a Poacher line has fish and wildlife officers in Pincher Creek looking into a case of wildlife wastage.

The carcass of a male mule deer was found southwest of the town, at the end of Range Road 1-2, by officers on Saturday, Dec. 1. The head and three legs had been removed.

The evidence so far suggests that the animal was killed at the spot where it was found, and that it had happened recently, likely the night of Nov. 29.

It’s illegal under the Wildlife Act to waste meat. Anyone with information is asked to call the Report a Poacher line, 1-800-624-3800.
