Wrestling season returns for local athletes with a successful showing at Wetaskiwin Classic

WETASKIWIN – 34 wrestlers from the Lethbridge area competed at the Wetaskiwin Classic over the weekend and had 26 top three finishes.

This tournament followed the Alberta School categories so Elementary was up to Grade 6, Junior High grades 7-9 and High School grades 10-12.

Elementary:

This coming weekend, Dec. 14/15, Lethbridge Collegiate Institute is hosting the LCI Green and Gold Tournament.

On Friday night the Junior High Competition will be starting at 6 p.m. and then on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. is the Senior High tournament.  

L.C.I. has three 2018 National Championship medalists scheduled to compete for their schools. 

Angelina Ellis-Toddington is the U17 Greco Roman Champion, Brantley Saar is the U17 Freestyle Silver Medalist, as well as, Greco Roman Silver Medalist and Maren Evanson is the U19 Freestyle Silver medalist.
