LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s volleyball team is in Caronport, Saskatchewan this weekend for a two-game set against the Briercrest College Clippers.

With the homestretch firmly in sight, the Kodiaks will wrap up their ACAC regular season schedule in February, which means the playoff picture is becoming clearer and each point in the standings carries extra importance.

Tonight’s game between the 16-0 Kodiaks and 7-9 Clippers goes at 8 p.m. Then Saturday’s game will be a matinee, with a 3 p.m. start time.

The Kodiaks have already clinched a playoff spot and are writing one of the best stories in Canadian college volleyball this season with a perfect 16-0 record.

They’re ranked second in the CCAA national rankings and have lost only 10 sets in 16 matches this season, and during a first semester series between the two teams, the Kodiaks swept the Clippers by identical 3-1 scores.

Carter Hansen (fourth year, General Studies, Magrath) remains second in the ACAC in kills, averaging 4.62 per set. Zach Wikenheiser (third year, General Studies, Lethbridge) is second in the conference in assists (9.63 per set), Michael Svab (second year, Geomatics Engineering Technology) is third in blocks (0.76 per game) and Matt Primrose (third year, General Studies, Lethbridge) is fifth in digs (2.67 per set) as the Kodiaks dominate the conference’s statistical leaderboard.
