CLARESHOLM, AB – Police in Claresholm arrested a thirty-one year old man earlier this week in connection with a break and enter and theft.

Daniel Derek Morgan was apprehended by the RCMP on February 6, 2019. As a result of the arrest, an investigation led to a Search Warrant being obtained for a residence in Claresholm.

When police executed their warrant, they discovered stolen property linked to multiple offences that have happened in the Claresholm and Stavely areas since December, according to a release from the RCMP.

The police also seized controlled substances, including methamphetamine and fentanyl, several weapons, and Canadian and U.S. currency.

Morgan was charged alongside twenty-five year old Kassandra June Villneff of Okotoks. The two were charged with multiple counts of possession of property obtained by crime, possession of controlled substances and possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose.

The RCMP said Morgan also faces multiple charges of break and enter and breach of probation.

“The results of the investigation were made possible through the help of the community in reporting crime and the availability of video surveillance footage,” read the release from the RCMP.

“Video surveillance is an effective tool to deter and solve criminal activity. The Claresholm RCMP would like to extend their thanks to the individuals who provided information necessary to solve these offences. If you have been victimized by property crime, please be sure to report it to the police.”
