LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have charged a man and woman in connection with an assault and robbery on Monday, Mar. 11.

Police responded to a report of an injured man at a liquor store along the 700 block of 23 Street North at 10:30 p.m. on Monday, and upon arrival, they found the store in disarray and a 19-year-old male employee with significant head injuries.

An investigation determined two men and a woman had entered the store and were asked to leave after the employee recognized them as previously being banned for attempting to steal liquor.

The subjects refused, and a physical altercation followed where the employee was struck in the head with bottles and punched until he fell to the ground.

The three of them then fled the scene with an undisclosed quantity of liquor before police arrival.

The victim was transported to hospital and treated for head lacerations.

Following a review of the video surveillance, police were able to identify two of the three suspects.

37-year-old Garrett Shane Williams, of Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault and robbery. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 30.

46-year-old Deana Small Eyes, also from Lethbridge, is facing charges of aggravated assault and robbery and was brought into custody sometime in the afternoon on Wednesday, Mar. 13.

Police say the investigation is ongoing to identify the third subject.
