Lethbridge YMCA Launches 2016 Strong Kids Campaign
LETHBRIDGE: The Lethbridge YMCA hopes to raise over $100,000 this year for its Strong Kids Campaign.
The campaign kicked off Monday morning with guest athletes from the Lethbridge Hurricanes, Lethbridge College Kodiak Athletic teams and and the U-of-L Pronghorn teams on spin bikes to raise money.
The year-round fundraiser helps families in financial need access YMCA programs and services without having to worry about cost.
“A lot of overall health has to do with much more than out physical health. We’re talking about social health, connecting to community, belonging to a group. We also talk about how people feel better about just being out of their home, and not having to worry about whether or not they have the money to participate in something,” explained CEO, Jennifer Petracek-Kolb.
