ALBERTA – The Alberta government is looking for people who will be part of developing the regulations on its farm safety bill.

Agriculture Minister Oneil Carlier says they want to hear from as many groups as possible on the regulations for Bill 6.

Six technical working groups will be established to develop recommendations on how employment standards, occupational health and safety, and labour relations requirements should be applied given the unique needs of employers and employees in the agriculture sector.

Carlier says the government recognizes farming is a way of life and wants to ensure that is preserved, while at the same time ensuring paid workers come home safely at the end of each day.
