RCMP Identify Victim in Fatal Crash on Highway 512

COALDALE – RCMP have identified Robert Gary Kern as the man who died in a collision on Saturday night on Highway 512 between Lethbridge and Coaldale

RCMP and EMS were called to a rear-end collision around 9:30 p.m. between a motorcycle and a small passenger vehicle.

A 47-year-old Lethbridge man was driving a motorcycle east-bound on highway 512, when he was struck from behind by a small car as he slowed to make a left hand turn.

EMS personnel transported the man to Lethbridge hospital in critical condition.  He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The driver of the car, an 18 year old woman, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time.

Coaldale RCMP continue to investigate contributing factors related to this collision.
