May 21, 2016 | 7:29 AM

SOUTHERN ALBERTA – Alberta Health Services will be offering up some education about all Emergency Medical Services (EMS) do, in honour of National Paramedic Services Week.

The theme this year is “Paramedics: Enhancing Care – Changing Lives”, which will highlight the importance of EMS within health care and communities.

AHS will run several open houses across the South Zone between May 24 and 27. Those will include ambulance tours, specialized equipment demonstrations and sharing career-planning resources.

Recently, the Fort Macleod and District, Windy Slopes (Pincher Creek) and Crowsnest Pass Health Foundations jointly purchased a third non-ambulance transfer (NAT) van, which brings the total number of the vans to five across the South Zone. That will be displayed in Pincher Creek on May 27.
