Jun 13, 2016 | 6:17 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Eight local non-profit groups will share over $740,000 in project grants.

This is the 13th allocation, since its inception in 2004, as part of the Community Capital Project Grant (CCPG). The funding allows for eligible groups to expand or upgrade their facilities.

Grants are awarded on a one-third basis, meaning they must get the remaining two-thirds from other sources.

“It truly is rewarding because everybody in the community is probably touched by one of the eight organizations,” said Lori Harasem, Recreation and Culture Development Manager.

This year’s recipients include:

Lethbridge YMCA (Renovations) – $143,602

Lethbridge Family Services (Renovations & Upgrades) – $148,995

Lethbridge Speed Skating Association (Retrofit) – $6,861

Lakeview Community Park Society of Lethbridge (Playground Replacement) – $169,504

Ecole Agnes Davidson School Parent Fundraising Association (Playground Replacement) – $200,000

Southern Alberta Self-Help Association (Renovations) – $56,844
